I was looking for a mobile phone with a keyboard as well as a touch screen since I got tired of struggling to write a text with my previous touch phone.
My requirements were simple a good organiser and a good keyboard. The milestone had both so it seemed like the obvious choice.

When I got the phone I had to spent a couple of hours to set up my contacts since it is not really compatible with exported lists from Nokia but the benefits were amazing. When you set up a contact in your phone it automatically gets transferred to your gmail account and vice versa. The same goes for the calendar which is amazing in terms of organizing you get an email you immediately copy paste you details in your google calendar and you will never miss a meeting again!
However the downfall is its maker Motorola I had two phones the first with a back speaker problem which they replaced and I got a second one which one button of the keyboard is not working properly (it’s the up button which I never use so I didn’t bother getting it replaced). Their updates procedure is even worst the updates for Milestone take months to get released compared to its droid (American counterpart). Further on the Milestone (unlike the droid) is not a rooted phone so no custom applications unless you are prepared to void your warranty. This is not something mentioned in other reviews I read so you should consider that if you are into that sort of things.
Overall a good phone.

Was lucky enough to pick up one of these little gems “Sim Free” and having owned the phone for a week am yet to find a single fault with it.
For around £240 you get a lot of features including a responsive touch screen, slide out QWERTY keyboard, 5MP camera, excellent music player and free voice guided Satellite Navigation for life !!

A few reviews I have found online suggest the phone looks and feels cheap. I would say that’s absolute nonsense. Feels very robust and the slide mechanism is as good as on any phone I have owned so far.
If I was to have one minor niggle it would be that the LED flash on camera isn’t the strongest. However, I didnt buy it to replace my digital camera so that’s a very minor concern indeed.

I can see me having this one for a long time to come.

Based on the appearance, I saw this phone as a collaboration of the BlackBerry and the iPhone due to it’s rollerball navigation as well as the touchscreen technology.
I’ve never bought an Android phone before and I’ve got to tell you, they definitely won’t let you down!

The interface is surprisingly quick and simple to use, there’s the centre screen and a screen to the left and right when dragged in that direction. In which, shortcuts to applications, widgets, customised themes can be placed.
There’s literally 1000’s of free apps and games too just like the iPhone.
A real intriguing app for me was the metal detector, it’s definitely one to show off to your mates!

As it’s a Google phone, it comes with Google Maps, which is excellent. It runs just as well as it does on your laptop/computer. It’s even compatible with the street view.
Another Google feature which can be downloaded in the App Market is Google Sky Map in which it uses the in built GPS and you simply aim your phone around the sky whilst looking at your screen and it’ll accurately provide you with where all the stars/constellations/planets are!

The only thing I could say could possibly do with improving is the camera, it really could do with a xenon or LED flash, however on a good note, when taking a photo in daylight, upload it to your laptop/pc and you’ll see how surprisingly good the quality is for a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The battery life is pretty good. With average use, the phone should last you around 3 days before having to charge up again. Charging time is unbelievably fast, it only needs to be on the mains for about an hour before it’s fully charged and ready to go.

After some months I can say with knowledge that this terminal has changed my life. I am a student and freelancer and finding it very rarely at home for academic issues I need to be able to communicate with all my clients in real time. I had a popular touch screen mobile phone (not iPhone, it is clear) that seemed to meet my needs but the writing was far too slow and cumbersome navigation between menus, not to mention software email management really obsolete.

So I switched to Blackberry (even after having carefully assessed the long-emblazoned iPhone) and I must say it was like going from one point to a Ferrari.

In addition to normal calls, this terminal through self-installing software allowed me to:
1) Use MSN Messenger
2) Use GTalk (Gmail Chat)
3) Use Facebook

These three applications combined with excellent writing system with full QWERTY keyboard (fast) lets me keep in touch with everyone.
The phone will intergrate perfectly synchronizing with Gmail through IMAP, if I read or delete an email on my phone on my account will also already read or deleted on your PC. Unfortunately at present you can not do the opposite (or read from a PC and marked read on the phone) but never mind, since I use this phone on the PC much less and less obsessive

The GPS is useful if combined with some free program like Amaze and I have to use some time in the city, although it has not replaced my Tom Tom, for obvious reasons, is higher.
The navigation system is among the menu is perfect thanks to the tried and tested Blackberry trackball that acts as a mouse and is as sensitive as practical.

The keyboard is a convenience crazy as the famous scroll wheel with which the pages, menus are simple and intuitive to use, the only “problem” is that capiatatomi changing the password on a computer account + mail then this was not recognized by the phone and that account does not send or receive messages through the terminal + Bb. Hello everybody.I have purchased a while the phone (or smartphone) S740 and wanted to give my opinion. The ‘S740 (codename ROSE) is an excellent phone with a hardware budget to say the least exceptional. Qualcomm MSM7225 CPU at 528 MHz, RAM 256 MB SDRAM format system, Windows Mobile 6.1 (may quietly circled Windows 98), HSDPA / WCDMA in addition to GSM / GPRS / EDGE, GPS allows interaction with the satellite navigation program and finally, the Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b / g and Bluetooth. It ’s also a 3.2 megapixel camera that has the only drawback of having fixed focus that always gives clear images. The real gem of this phone (which made me drop the choice of buying just on the latter) is the pull-out qwerty keyboard that has all the letters and some function keys that allow even a few typical combinations of windws like cut (CTRL + X), copy (ctrl + C) and paste (CTRL + V). The software bundle is pretty convincing but if this does happen as in my case having to do a hard reset you will with most of the programs locked in the Windows folder and not in the start menu along with other files function to reorder.
